Sophi Kravitz is a multimedia artist and electrical engineer whose work fuses technology with organic forms, creating works that exist between the adorable and the eerie. Drawn to art through animatronics and other machines, they build playful yet unsettling creatures, exploring mythology, technology, and the unseen forces that shape our world. Their practice bridges science, technology, and electricity, using environmental sensors, high voltage, and invisible signals to uncover hidden connections.

Their work has been exhibited at over 50 festivals, exhibitions, and conferences, including Burning Man, Maker Faire, FITC, and the O+ Festival. Their first public artwork, a 12-foot birthday cake for Gay Men’s Health Crisis, was installed on Fire Island via helicopter, uniting thousands in celebration. They have since created life-sized unicorns for ArtPrize at the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum, collaborated on Occhiolino, and completed an art incubator at Gray Area Org. Their projects have received support from the NY League of Arts, Burning Man, San Diego Arts Cap, Guerilla Science, NY League of Arts, and the Frey Foundation.

Their current project, Messages from Space, transforms cosmic rays into sound, inviting audiences into a meditative, otherworldly experience. They live and work in Kingston, NY.
